Fun day painting a mural for @beatricks_036, shout out to the artists bringing their artworks to life for this event! I've been planning to decorate this wall next to my home, but I got invited to a cool event first, which seemed like a fun opportunity!

Preparation was the key to a smooth day of painting. I've designed a Japanese character, ''Cassa-obake, doing a kickflip''. Inspired by woodblock printing, one of my favorite techniques, I aimed to blend the artwork with the off-white wall and surroundings. Although mixing the right color shadows was challenging, I achieved my goal.
It was Sunday, the 24th of August, a sunny and relaxed morning. I brought all the materials to the spot and prepared for an unexpected 6 hours of painting. While sipping a coffee, I briefly introduced myself to the organisers of the skateboarding competition. I was already thinking how cool it is to create alongside.
After a while, other artists were coming over. Straight away, we were planning how to approach the wall.
I started with a wobbly grid that could indicate the main draft. I've chosen brushes and rollers for the sharp effect of woodblock print. The motto ''trust the process'' came with filing the main surfaces. Everything went quite fast. As I began focusing on the details, curious people and children gradually approached to observe how we were challenging our artworks.
Working on details took the most time, but it was very enjoyable, accompanied by other experienced artists.

I brought up my stereo to set up the mood. We've also got some burgers from the grill with metchup (Dutch 2 in 1 mayo + ketchup paste) to recharge our energy.

It was a good day! Very happy to get this opportunity, meet new people and bring my artwork to life! Looking forward to the next adventure! . . . Big thanks for the invitation to:
